Reason For My Absence

Hey All -

Sorry about the lack of posts - I'm afraid it is a situation that may persist for a little while.

2 years ago (approx) I had a herniated and 2 bulging discs fixed in my back - on Wednesday - it started feeling like it did exactly then - I'm still waiting to get into to see the neuro surgeon who did the surgery to let me know what is up - but sitting in a computer chair is not where I want to be. I am doing this from work right now - where I have no choice - but at home - its the recliner for me. So I'm still here reading (Sun - Wed 1-midnight) but other than that - I'm nowhere near a computer until it stopps hurting. Take care -

Hopefully I'll be back up and writing sooner than later.

That really sucks. I feel your pain. I have a herniated disk that bothers me every so often. It was bad for awhile then after some predisone it felt much better so I didn't need surgery. I hope the doctors can help you, I know it's really tough to live with.

I hope it doesn't turn into something serious. I'll keep my fingers crossed that the doctors have good news for you.

Aw man, that sucks. Feel better soon, and when you do, send me your address. I've got a certain Finest patch card you were looking for.

Steve, two things...
1st. I got my MRI results yesterday. Three bulging discs, two herniated, apparantley one is pushing on my spinal chord, hence the pain and lack of mobility. I am told I cannot swing a bat or throw a ball or go into a mosh pit. I am sad.
2nd. I read your comment on White Sox cards... When I was a youngster in the Sox organization, I looked up to guys I saw in camp like Ventura and Guillen and collected them, hoping I would play with them. Never did. I didn't have any doubles, I just collected one of everything. I had promised them to White Sox cards months ago, finally sent them his way. If I come across any, especially of him as a met, they are yours...Gotta go with the team hierarchy on this. Cheers! Hope your back is being quiet...
